These two images capture two men in Imogen Cunningham’s life. The first image, her father, looks so loving - and we can’t help but think he looks a bit like Gandalf. The second portrait, of Alfred Stieglitz, is her influential contemporary. The treatment of these images - one soft and the other almost clinical, may give us some insight into her feelings about these men.
